Trek for Timor volunteers Anne and Fiona have spent the last three months living in the remote mountainous area of Hato Builico in East Timor. It’s an area with friendly people and spectacular vistas in every direction. Anne and Fiona have been developing a booklet of bushwalks and investigating home stays to encourage people to visit the area. These simple developments will bring much needed income for the people in this very impoverished region. When you’ve finished Trek for Timor, this could be your next major walk. Sorry folks but we’ve had to make a small change to Leg 1 of the Trek. The track now uses the National Pass instead of Wentworth Pass. The good news is that the vertical drop on the new route is a bit less! So if you downloaded the trail notes and maps before June 30th, you’ll need to check the current maps and notes on the website to see the change.
