You Did It!
Trek for Timor | 19 September 2010What a great bunch of teams you were. From the moment the first teams appeared in the cold dawn light, to the arrival of the last team just after midnight, we were overwhelmed and delighted with the support and effort that you made for Trek for Timor. However tough the terrain, however sore the feet, every team arrived with smiling faces and some even said they’d do it again!
And to all the volunteers, we salute you for your hard work in cheering on the teams and helping them on their way.
Final results, split times, details of oldest and youngest teams will all be posted here, just as soon as we’ve cranked up our calculators. And we’ll be posting lots of photos soon.
Sponsorship is still rolling in and we thank you all so much for your tremendous fundraising efforts. The cut off date for sending in payments, receipt books etc is October 3rd but we will post an interim list of how the teams are doing with their sponsorship.
Thank you everyone for making it such a happy and exciting day. See you in Kangaroo Valley in 2011 and back in the Blueys in 2012.
The T4T Team

Congratulations from the Buena Vista Amigas!! We had a fabulous day walking through such spectacular country. Your organisation was superb. When we overshot checkpoint 1, Jocelyn was on the trail fetching us back within a few minutes. Thanks to all the volunteers on the trail and at the checkpoints for their good humor and encouragement – everyone looked soo cold waiting to welcome us at the finish.
The whole experience was so uplifting and happy-making that by the time we got to the end we felt like we could just keep on walking. All the best with the fund raising – we hope all the teams keep their sponsorship money rolling in
Thanks again

Well done everyone. WHat a huge effort. Also a big thank you to the volunteers who helped out at Leura Cascades yesterday. Everyone made the day a fun and festive event. Thanks you!
Congratulations to everyone – trekkers, marshals, checkpoint volunteers, other coordinators etc, WISEN volunteers, St John Ambulance vols (including the cadets) – a wonderful spirit and passion was evident in the way you all did your task. Thank you!!
Massive thanks to the volunteers- you made it a fantastic experience. You lifted our spirits when they were flagging, appearing like angels in the darkness- it was much appreciated. Great event- so well organised. Was delighted to be part of it!
What a great day! Finally beginning to feel like a human being after Saturday’s trek (just). Volunteers did a smashing job – all so happy (even those in the dark, cold grottos). Organisers did a fantastic job – you thought of everything. Thanks for making it memorable.
To Maggi and all the gang who helped organise and marshall this fantasic event. It was great to see your smiling faces and have a chat as we went along. We could not have asked for a better day – the weather was amazing, the views outstanding and it was so well organised. WELL DONE!!! Thanks again from Karen, Emidio & George of the Hills Trekkers.
To Maggie and the great team of volunteers
Congratulations on a well organised T4T event . Our team was very impressed by the enthusiastic, smiling volunteers all along the track. It is a credit to you all. You even planned the weather . And thanks to all the walkers who were happy to chat and encourage people along the way.
Congratulations and well done. The Indigo Wlkers
I’d like to congratulate all the walkers on completing the trek!. I was the sweep from checkpoint 1 to the finish, and it was great to see the teams all supporting each other and remaining so positive and appreciative as they trekked into the night. The teams that were out on the trail the longest had to really dig deep to overcome the pain and cold, and I was particularly privileged to walk with the Hairy Hikers towards the end and witness their support of each other and the fact that they kept their sense of humor. I hope the Sunday breakfast made it all worthwhile! Well done teams!!!
Also, a big thank you to the marshals who were out in some very cold places on the trail and still managed to cheer on the teams – we couldn’t have done it without you!
