Why would you donate to your favourite trekker or team?

350 people will walk up to 45 kms throughout the day and into the night through tough and challenging Blue Mountains trails to raise funds for our nearest neighbour, East Timor.

These funds will help to build a better future for people living in Hatobuilico in East Timor. The Hatobuilico community tell us that their major problem is accessing education for children and adults. Hatobuilico needs a secondary school for its 12,000 residents and isolated communities need schooling for their young children.

Imagine growing up in a place that has NO secondary school.

What would it be like to be an adult who can’t read or write but wants to build a better market for the vegetables that you grow?

Trek for Timor 2012 funds will be used to build a secondary school for the sub-district, a primary school for Taurema and develop a learning centre for adults.

* A contribution of $150 would purchase 300 sacks of concrete or 3 truck loads of sand or a load of timber for construction of a new school.

* $150 would pay a tutor for 3 weeks to teach literacy or English or improved methods of growing crops.

Sponsor a team or individual that’s walking the trek and raise much needed funds for East Timor.
